Vodka Stirs Up U2's Winning Smiles at Grammy Awards U2's producer has revealed the band was drinking vodka at the Grammys out of what looked like bottles of water. Daniel Lanois says they were able to celebrate winning four awards while sitting in the audience. He says everyone else thought they were drinking Evian, but really it was vodka. "Everybody walks around with a bottle of water these days so you can walk through even the most strong-armed guards if you've got a water bottle. But we had our vodka in there," Lanois tells Jam Music.
