Sushi Sake

Lovers of sushi are flocking to Sushi Sake, just west of Central in Richardson.

It’s a beautiful little place, with about 10 tables and space for about 10 at the sushi bar. That’s the bad news, because the restaurant is usually packed by 11:30. The good news is, the tables turn pretty quickly. The wait staff is quick, the sushi master is a wizard. Dinner is also served at Sushi Sake, Monday through Saturday.

For starters try some miso soup ($2.00) to get your palate in the mood for what’s to come.

Sushi is served in a number of ways. You might think of it like skiing: for the beginner, intermediate and advanced.

If you don’t have much sushi experience go for a sushi sampler, which comes in a small and large size. This will give you a good introduction to some of the delicacies.

Or try some of the other dishes that might be more familiar to your palate like grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce ($6.95) or a shrimp tempura appetizer ($4.25).

Intermediate fans might opt for the sushi and sashimi ($21.50), a wonderful assortment of sushi and a succulent, raw slice of the freshest fish available.

Veteran sushi lovers will undoubtedly select from the ala carte list. This features all the sumptuous creations that have made Sushi Sake so popular: salmon, shrimp, crab, eel, Valley Roll and more, more more. The bill can mount up in a hurry, so depending on your appetite and your budget, choose sparingly. There’s always tomorrow, and the day after, to try more of these heavenly morsels.

Sushi Sake is convenient to the High-Tech Corridor. If you’re going for lunch and have clients who love sushi, you’ll look good taking them here.
