Quick 'N Easy Lunches for the Hustled, Harried and Hurried
Struggling to find time for lunch during the holidaze? Here's our first annual
"Quick 'n Easy Lunch Guide for the Hustled, Harried and Hurried". It's not a complete list-I was in a
hurry-but it's a good start. For take-out meals you can't beat Eatzi's in Oak Lawn. The Corner Bakery is a winning
concept from Chicago. The first of many to come to the area is open in Plano, at Preston and Park. Café
Express on McKinney and on Beltline does the trick for tasty Southwestern entrees and salads. For fresh hot Italian
breads, pasta, desserts and good Italian specialties try Il Grano at Parker and The Tollway. Heading West...some
great handmade Mexican food is served everyday at Espinosa's in Bedford on Harwood at 121. Around Fort Worth if
you need a burger or a barbecue fix, you can't go wrong at Kincaid's on Camp Bowie or Angelo's on White Settlement.
Back in Big D, Dickey's will treat you right. The new kid on the barbecue block is Red's in Hillside Village, Mockingbird
at Abrams. As you're doing the whirling dervish through the waning daze of '97, get a good, quick sandwich at any
Jason's Deli. Neighborhood spots like Street's, Empire Bakery, and Legal Grounds in Lakewood Shopping Center also
fill the bill. If your blood pressure's up from all the runnin' around, make a healthy stop at Eureka in Preston
Center for a good-ol' smoothie or a tender, tasty rollup sandwich. For Mexican food make a beeline to Matt's Rancho
Martinez in Lakewood. If a slice 'o pizza is the taste you crave you can do lunch in about 15 minutes at any Spasso's
location. Haven't mentioned anything fast enough to match your mach? Well, as a last resort you can order a case
of military MRE's-those infamous "meals ready to eat" for only $49.97 at 1-800-888-3006. Take 'em with
as you go dashing through the mall. That makes the drive-through look better all the time. Happy holidays and bon
appetit!
