I stumbled onto the best lunch bargain I've found anywhere the other day. I was heading back from a meeting near Beltline and Josey when I saw a banner proclaiming "Catfish Lunch Buffet". I thought, "Well, check it out maybe they'll have something besides catfish". Do they ever! I urge you to veer (safely) off I-35 at Beltline and make a beeline east to this charming little place. It hasn't been open long. I want to make sure it sticks around. Are you ready for a $5.50 all you can eat lunch buffet? This is delicious, fresh and hot homestyle cookin'. The menu includes catfish, meatloaf, pork chops, baked chicken, fried chicken, baked fish, good ol' veggies, lots of fresh salads, homemade rolls, cornbread and two or three lip-smacking desserts. May my dear departed Aunt Grayce forgive me-I think Momi's Kitchen makes a better peach cobbler. They also serve breakfast. Biscuits and gravy and grits, oh my! I couldn't believe the array of food. Momi's has different specials every day. You can even order sandwiches or burgers, but why would you pass on the buffet? Almost better than the food is the friendly, courteous treatment you get at Momi's. That's pretty unusual for a buffet setup. This is a family owned and operated restaurant, and they seem to appreciate your business--rather an anomaly these days. They even act like they want you to come back. The place is handy from anywhere in Northwest Dallas County; convenient access from the freeway. The roomy and homey setting is good for a large meeting or an office gathering.
