Arcodoro
If you're looking for a good late night spot, or a good anytime casual place near
Uptown or Oak Lawn, check out Arcodoro-the next door sibling to upscale Pomodoro. The Cedar Springs pizza, pasta
and more bar serves up some great wood-fired pizza and antipasti. Grilled portabello served on roasted polenta...grilled
vegetables with rosemary...prosciutto wrapped shrimps, sautéed with cannellini beans-just to name a few.
Several varieties of pizza are offered. The Margherita Pizza is quick and light and features buffalo mozzarella
flown in from Italy. It's also fun to watch the pizza being made on the counter in front of the oven. The oven
also turns out a good roasted chicken, served with rosemary new potatoes. The lasagna Primavera is very flavorful-a
vegetarian specialty chocked-full of good, crispy veggies, cheese and tasty pomodoro sauce.
Good pasta on the menu
at Arcodoro-including black linguini with roasted vegetables in a fresh tomato basil sauce and a spicy spaghetti
with ground meats and a tomato jalapeno sauce. Fresh fish every day, whole lobster and a delicious ribeye steak
round out some of the specialties of the house.
The steak is tender and delicious, marinated in garlic and Mediterranean
herbs and served with homemade garlic mashed potatoes. Arcodoro has a good selection of wines to match the hip,
Euro-style bar-café menu. Arcodoro is open every night but Monday for dinner; serves lunch Monday through
Friday and brunch on weekends.
