Gourmet Getaways
Four Texas resorts and their signature recipes are among 78 places featured in
a new book, Gourmet Getaways: A Taste of North America's Top Resorts (Callwind Publications; $24.95). This is yet
another book by Paris Permenter and John Bigley, the prolific husband-and-wife travel writing team from the Texas
Hill Country. They visited hundreds of spas and resorts throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean
before making their picks. Tough assignment. The featured Texas resorts, and their signature recipes are:
* Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, eggplant enchiladas
* Lakeway Inn in Austin, tortilla soup
* Four Seasons Resort and Club at Las Colinas in Irving
* Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, wild mixed green salad.
