Second Annual WhiskyFest Chicago
set for April 17, 2002
The world's most influential whisky
press, consumers, and trade will attend this one night event in
Chicago
What is it?
After a sold-out event last March, WhiskyFest Chicago, the
biggest independent whisky event in the U.S., is coming back to
Chicago on Wednesday evening, April 17, 2002, from 6:30-10:00 pm at
the Hyatt Regency on Wacker Drive. The event is sponsored by Malt
Advocate magazine, America's leading publication specializing in
whisky.
What will be poured?
More than 200 of the world's finest and rarest whiskies will be
available for sampling, featuring the finest single malt and blended
Scotch whiskies, the best bourbons and Tennessee whiskeys, top of
the line Irish whiskeys, and the best from Canada. The focus is on
education, and distillery representatives will be on hand at the
pouring booths to explain how the whiskies are made.
Who will be speaking?
Twelve of the world's leading distillery managers and master
blenders will be conducting seminars throughout the evening
including:
David Quinn (Bushmills), David Robertson (The Macallan), Jimmy
Russell (Wild Turkey), Richard Paterson (The Dalmore), Jim Cryle (Glenlivet),
Bill Samuels (Maker's Mark), Neil Boyd (Dewar's), Fred Noe (Small
Batch Bourbon), Ricky Christie (Scott's Selection), Elmer T. Lee
(Buffalo Trace), Rachel Barrie (Glenmorangie/Ardbeg), Fritz Maytag
(Old Potrero) and many other well-known distillery managers will
also be in attendance.
Who will attend?
Approximately 1,000 whisky enthusiasts, trade representatives,
and the media.
