May was a tough month for Uptown restaurants in Dallas. Investors pulled the plug on NorthSouth (Larry North’s restaurant) in the Quadrangle May 31st. Almost simultaneously, Coco Pazzo on McKinney shut down. It’s Addison location closed months ago and apparently there wasn’t enough business at the McKinney Avenue location either. This follows the end of Fog City Diner in the middle of the month. There is good news about that location, however, the very popular Truluck’s Steak & Stone Crab (on Beltline in Addison) will open a second restaurant in the old Fog City location around July 1.

Heading for Aspen again for the annual Aspen Food and Wine Classic. Now as we move into The Millennium, we’re taking our online culinary project to the next level. Be sure to visit our new website Eats&Drinks.com. It’s still food and wine, alright, but it’s also beer, cocktails, cigars, travel and other things associated with the good life. Our new address on the worldwide web will allow us to create an ever-expanding universe of news you can use about the whole spectrum of food, wine, spirits and more. The table just got smaller for you if you ever wanted to sit across from Emeril Lagasse and discuss a recipe or sip and swirl with Robert Parker. We’ll be developing chats with them, special dinners with culinary personalities and lots of events we think you’ll be interested in. We’ll keep you posted. For now, please check out our new website: Eats&Drinks.Com-it’s still under construction, so come back often and see all the new information we’re adding. After you’ve had a chance to look around, please send us an email: jwdineline@aol.com, and tell us what you think or what of content you have an interest in seeing. Thanks!
