Go Bananas!
Can a banana a day keep the cardiologist away? It might be worth a try. The American
Heart Association recently awarded Chiquita Banana a red "Heart Check Mark," a symbol now flagging 400
different heart-friendly foods. To qualify, the foods must contain fewer than 3 grams of fat, 1 gram of saturated
fat, and 20 milligrams of cholesterol per serving. Besides being fat and cholesterol free, bananas are rich in
vitamins, minerals, and soluble fiber.
